Kjarval
Siggi played the title role in this imaginative and heartfelt family play about Jóhannes Sveinsson Kjarval—Iceland's most celebrated artist. The production offers a vivid portrait of Kjarval as a boy, a man, and a painter, inviting audiences of all ages to discover the life behind the legend. Based in part on Margrét Tryggvadóttir's award-winning children's book, the play explores how Kjarval not only shaped Icelandic art, but also helped the nation see its wild and rugged nature with new eyes. Through a blend of storytelling, humour, and visual poetry, the show brings Kjarval's spirit to life—his eccentricity, his vision, and his deep connection to the land. At its heart, Kjarval is also a celebration of art itself: how it surrounds us, shapes our experience, and sometimes even dares to look back at us.
